Hi all I know it's been a long time since I posted on this blog- a little bit busy. I retired from my job as of September 1, 2013 I am now a full-time artist hooray! Actually I spend my time volunteering at Art Lab, taking classes at the college in painting, and taking classes at Art Lab in drawing and encaustic painting, hanging around my house and trying to do some artwork at home. As they say I don't know when I had time to work. I'm studying right now with a new teacher Tracy Jones at the college and I really like her. I'm already doing some new stuff and I'm having a good time. the encaustic class seems to be good too although i only had one session so far and I'm looking forward to a good 10 weeks with the new instructor there. the drawing class is a class where you draw what ever you like from the model and there is only a monitor, no teacher for it so so far that's been fun. I do miss printmaking however but I can't take classes on both Tuesday and Thursday nights so I chose to take the drawing class for this semester. I currently have three pieces in the student art show at ArtLab at Snug Harbor that show is open until the end of October so if you're on the island come by and have a look. right now Hilary and I are all alone as Alex and Ian have traveled to Las Vegas for vacation. we miss them but it's nice to have some girl time alone , going out to dinner and having a generally good time since they've been gone. I've submitted another journal to art journaling magazine and I'm hoping to hear from them soon to see if I'll be published again.
if I do it will be my third time being published, really exciting. I'm going to make an honest effort to publish some more blog posts I know i've said that before but this time I really am going to try now that I have more time so I hope i'll be able to follow through on that. it's been fun, I'll talk to you again soon cheers, brigid.
